- The holiday season is upon us! Noble Horizons at 17 Cobble Road in Salisbury holds its annual Festival of Trees – Making Spirits Bright – on Saturday, November 23 to Saturday, December 7, with a Gala Festival Party on December 7 from 5 to 7 PM (reservations requested). There will be a sparkling display of trees, wreaths, center pieces, gift baskets – and more – one-of-a-kind, hand-decorated for the holiday season. All available at silent auction. Admission is Free.
- Upcoming Event at Noble Horizons in Salisbury: Norfolk Artists & Friends, opening reception Saturday, November 23, 4 to 6:30 PM, FREE. An organization of professional artists living and working in Norfolk who paint, sculpt, photograph, make jewelry and create other decorative arts. The work will be attractively priced with holiday gift-giving in mind. Noble Horizons is happy to welcome these first-time exhibitors.
- The Aglet Theatre Company presents “OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY”, a gripping comedy/drama that explores whether corporate raiders are creatures from the Black Lagoon of capitalism or realists. A wrestling match between lust and greed. November 22 and 23 at TriArts Bok Gallery on Amenia Road in Sharon. Doors open at 7 PM for complimentary wine and refreshments. Admission is $25.00. - The annual family skating party of Habitat for Humanity will be held at the Salisbury School Flood Rink on Friday, November 29, from 1:15 to 3 PM. The requested donation is $3 for adults, $2 for children. Hats are required and there are no sticks and pucks allowed.
- The Salisbury Winter Sports Association (SWSA) will host its annual Ski Swap ‘n Sale on Saturday, December 7, at the firehouse of the Lakeville Hose Company on Brook Street. Residents can bring equipment to be sold Friday, December 6, from 4 to 7 PM. No equipment will be accepted on Saturday. As always, the sale on Saturday will run from 8 to 11 AM. From 11 AM to noon, residents can pick up their money or unsold equipment. Any equipment remaining afternoon Saturday will become the property of SWSA. Proceeds from the sale will benefit several SWSA youth ski programs. Go to SWSA’s website www.jumpfest.org for more details.
- The Falls Village-Canaan Historical Society’s Holiday Historic House Tour will be held on Saturday, December 7 (snow date is Sunday, December 8). The tour will begin at 10:30 AM at P.D. Walsh’s Country Store (107 Main Street) with a brief welcome and an introduction to the five houses on the tour. At 11 AM, ticket holders may begin their self-guided tour with guidance from the society’s brochure and map, researched with the help of the homeowners and the society. Four of the five locations on the tour will be open from 11 AM to 4 PM. Also on December 7, at the Center on Main at 103 Main Street is a benefit musical review by the Children’s Theater at 2 PM. Tickets for that event are $12. The Center on Main Street is a former Methodist Church, was rebuilt after a fire in 1900, with Tiffany windows. This location will only be open from 11 AM to 1 PM. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 the day of the tour. Children 8-16 are free. For the day, tour guests are encouraged to stop for a snack or meal with a free hot beverage at Toymaker’s Café (open 7 AM to 4 PM). The Falls Village Inn will donate $5 to the Historical Society per meal for tour guests (brunch 11 AM to 3 PM, dinner 5 to 10 PM). Be sure to show your tour ticket at either venue.
