NW Connecticut Crop Hunger Walk

One of the most compelling qualities of the Northwest Corner of Connecticut is the generosity of those who reside here. Witness the spirit of our small towns this Sunday at 1:00 pm as we celebrate the 34th Annual Northwest Connecticut CROP Hunger Walk at Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Falls Village.

CROP Hunger Walks began in Bismark, ND, when one thousand people gathered on October 17, 1969, and raised $25,000 to help stop hunger. This is believed to be the first of a following of hunger walks related to CROP.

Here in the Northwest Corner, over 8,000 walkers have participated in CROP Hunger Walks, since the first in 1983. Of the funds raised, up to 25 percent is allocated to programs in our community through the Northwest Connecticut Food Bank. Registration for this year’s Walks begins at 1:00 pm at Housatonic Valley Regional High School, located at 246 Warren Turnpike in Falls Village.
