Autumn: a succinct market

autumn-real-estateFall real estate continues the momentum of a strong 2016 selling season.  Year-to-date Elyse Harney Real Estate sales have grown 18.8% since this time last year – increasing from 85 to 101 transactions.  We celebrated our best ever April, August, and September this past year with 11, 17, and 16 transactions, respectively.  17 sales in August also set a new overall monthly record, breaking our previous high of 13 closings in one month.  Overall, residential Litchfield County Sales have increased 5.8% since 2015.  Within our agency’s primary market area, we have proudly grown our residential sales 23.4% this year and are pacing to finish strong throughout the next several weeks.

Each autumn cooler temperatures carry with them a sense of urgency whose briskness sweeps through the real estate market.  Buyers and sellers alike are aware of the impending winter weather and seeking to swiftly make their move, resulting in more motivated sellers and more serious buyers.  Frequently, sellers reduce their asking price and make final home improvements anticipating winter’s freezing temperatures.

With the experience of spring and summer behind them, fall buyers tend to be more seasoned and ready to make a move.  Buyers and sellers who are compelled by the urgency of the season, purify the real estate interaction with open and honest communication that unites the needs of each party in a successful transaction.

Elyse Harney Real Estate’s Tradition of Trust has always been dedicated to building strong relationships that extend far beyond the real estate exchange.  Working with clients throughout the entire process, including planning and follow-up, is crucial.  Actualizing your real estate goals in the autumn offers the opportunity for a restful winter season spent nourishing fresh roots that will thrive in the next chapter of life with spring’s renewal.
