The Salisbury Association, located in the Academy Building on Main Street in Salisbury, is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Noble Horizons 1972-2012, "a story or two and some photos as it was for us once upon a time." Be a part of their celebration on Friday, April 27, from 5 to 7 PM for refreshments and to view a Noble Horizons historical timeline. The display may be viewed April 27 to June 15, Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 1 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM.

The fourth lecture in the Era of Elegance decorative arts series will be the “Americanization of Andrea Palladio”, an illustrated lecture presented by Richard Boyle, a retired Temple University Art History professor. The history of Andrea Palladio (1508-1580) and his influence on architecture from Britain, to the United States will be the focus with Drayton Hall in South Carolina, the Redwood Library in Newport, Rhode Island and Monticello in Charlottesville, Virginia, highlighted as the main topic.
The Salisbury Association Historical Society and the Scoville Memorial Library will be hosting the “Americanization of Andrea Palladio”, Saturday, April 28 at 4 PM at the Scoville Memorial Library’s Wardell Room in Salisbury.

On April 27 and 28 at 7:30 PM and April 29 at 2:30 PM, Arts at Hotchkiss presents a Spring Dance Concert in the Walker Auditorium at Hotchkiss School on Interlaken Road in Lakeville. The performance is free to the public.

On May 5, from 1 to 3 PM, HUNTER BEE, the wonderfully eclectic store at 21 Main Street in Millerton, will be hosting Frank Langella who will be signing copies of his new book "Dropped Names," which is getting rave reviews. Copies are available at Oblong Books, also in Millerton. That same morning, at 11 AM, The Moviehouse in Millerton will have a complimentary screening of Langella's upcoming film "Robot and Frank."
Jonathan Bee and Kent Hunter of Hunter Bee have opened a satellite shop in the new Salisbury Breads bakery that opened on April 12 on Main Street. Decorative items and antiques are being sold in the back rooms of the building, which used to be a gift shop. Many of the items for sale are for cooking, baking or serving food. Don't miss visiting this newest addition on Main Street in Salisbury, open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 AM to 6 PM and Sundays from 9 AM to Noon.

Sid Bernstein, the American music producer and promoter, changed the American music scene by bringing The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Kinks to the U.S. He recently stated that John D'Ercole's bass guitar playing and his gentle manner are so magnificent that "I know he'll be a headline performer before he leaves his twenties." John D'Ercole's musical repertoire includes jazz, classical and contemporary music. He has arranged a repertoire of classical compositions for the six-string bass guitar. D'Ercole, son of local Lakeville resident, Sergio D'Ercole will perform at the Hudson Union Society in New York City on May 16.
